‘Supacell’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix


Supacell has officially been renewed for a second season on Netflix, following the success of its six-episode first season, which debuted in June.

The series has quickly become a standout hit for the streaming platform, marking one of its most successful UK original productions in recent years. Since its release, Supacell has consistently dominated Netflix’s top 10 charts globally, remaining a fan favorite for weeks.

Created by Rapman, the visionary director behind Blue Story, Supacell unfolds in modern-day South London, centering around a group of five ordinary Black individuals connected by a shared family history of sickle cell disease. Their lives take an extraordinary turn when they unexpectedly develop superpowers, drawing the attention of a secretive organization intent on controlling them.

With a fresh, exciting blend of supernatural elements and grounded storytelling, Supacell has captivated audiences worldwide.

Rapman not only created the series but also serves as an executive producer and director, alongside Sebastian Thiel, who shares directing duties. Steve Searle, Mouktar Mohammed, and Anna Ferguson also serve as executive producers, ensuring the show’s high-quality production and compelling narrative.

The talented ensemble cast includes Tosin Cole, Jessica Magaye, Ricardo McCleary-Campbell, Saraphina Mattis, Melissa Simon-Hartman, Cleo Young, and Micheal Ademilua, collectively known as the “Supacell Six,” whose chemistry and performances have been integral to the show’s success.
