Netflix has officially renewed The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie’s hit series, for a second season. Fans of the crime drama can look forward to the return of stars Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Daniel Ings, all reprising their roles for the eight-episode sophomore installment.
Based on Ritchie’s 2019 Miramax film, The Gentlemen was a breakout success when it premiered on March 7, spending an impressive 10 weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 English-language series, with the first three weeks holding the #1 spot.
The series follows Eddie Horniman (James), who unexpectedly inherits his father’s sprawling country estate, only to discover that it’s the center of a lucrative cannabis empire. As he navigates the treacherous waters of Britain’s criminal underworld, Eddie’s initial attempt to distance himself and his family from these dangerous dealings quickly unravels. Instead, he finds himself increasingly drawn to the criminal life—especially with the cunning Susie Glass (Scodelario) by his side, a powerful and ruthless ally.
Season 2 promises to build on the high-stakes drama and witty, sharp storytelling that made the first season such a standout. Guy Ritchie, who earned an Emmy nomination for his directorial work in Season 1, is returning as both director and co-writer, once again collaborating with Matthew Read.
Produced by UK’s Moonage Pictures for Netflix and Miramax Television, The Gentlemen is executive produced by Ritchie, along with Will Gould, Frith Tiplady, and Matthew Read for Moonage Pictures, and Marc Helwig for Miramax Television. Ivan Atkinson will also serve as an executive producer.
With filming slated to begin in 2025, the second season promises more thrilling twists, colorful characters, and the signature blend of dark humor and action-packed storytelling that Ritchie is known for. Expect further casting announcements soon as anticipation for the next chapter of The Gentlemen builds.
